2019 Grants

SNAPD 1000 Islands. The Brockville and Area Community Foundation awarded a total of $18,550 in grants and scholarships on June 5, 2019 to worthy charitable organizations in Brockville and surrounding area. Their goal is to “enhance the quality of life in our community.”

The City of Brockville Legacy Fund of $8,000 grant was accepted by Mayor Jason Baker. Groups receiving grants included: Society of St Vincent de Paul, Weekender Program $1,000; Prescott Youth Centre, Computer Purchases $1,500; Brockville Museum, Pop-Up Museum Program $1,500; Front of Yonge Township Public Library, Action Packs for Seniors $1,000 and Dana Street Community Garden $1,300.

Scholarships were awarded to:
St. Lawrence College, Douglas Scott Memorial Scholarship $2,000; St Lawrence College,Valerie Kines Memorial Scholarship $2,000 and Athens District High School, Henry Merkx Scholarship $250.
