A Night of Gratitude and Celebration: Reflecting on Our 50th Anniversary Event

On November 15, 2024, The Brockville and Area Community Foundation (BACF) hosted an unforgettable celebration of 50 years of community impact. The event was filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude and joy, as we gathered alongside our dedicated fund-holders, generous donors, and community partners. It was a night to remember, as we reflected on the incredible support that has made our mission possible for the past five decades.

The evening was a perfect blend of celebration, community, and creativity. One of the highlights of the event was the debut of our 50th Anniversary Film, produced by the talented team at Beattie Film and sponsored by GerrAudio. The film took us on a journey through the foundation’s history, showcasing the many milestones and lives touched by our work. It was a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come, and a glimpse into the future we are building together.

Guests were treated to a delightful experience, beginning with catering by Cindy Croteau, whose delicious creations kept everyone energized throughout the evening. Sweet treats were generously provided by Pastry King's Princess, who donated beautiful cupcakes that were a hit with everyone in attendance.

The event also featured incredible local talent, with Ryan Lahay capturing the moments through his lens, ensuring the night’s memories were preserved beautifully. The Clay Collective Studio, a 2023 BACF grant recipient, displayed their stunning ceramics for sale, allowing guests to take home a piece of local art while supporting a great cause. Music for the evening was provided by Willy Stevenson, the founder of the Do It For Aaron Foundation, a 2023 BACF grant recipient, who brought an uplifting and joyful atmosphere to the celebration.

A major moment of the night was the announcement of our 2024 Community Grant Recipients, who are working on projects that will make a lasting impact in our communities. From local history projects to afterschool programs and food security initiatives, these grants continue to support the important work being done across our region.

We were honored to celebrate with our fundholders, community service providers, and donors who have been integral to the foundation’s success. Your ongoing support allows us to continue investing in projects that enhance the quality of life in Brockville and the surrounding areas.

What a night it was—thank you to everyone who made it possible. Your presence and support mean the world to us, and we can’t wait to see what the next 50 years bring!
